One will in Christ

Doctrine · On Christ · 638–681

In Christ there is one will, and one theandric operation.

Offered as a formula of union that might bring the non-Chalcedonian churches back, and imposed by the Ecthesis of 638. It cost Maximus the Confessor his tongue and his right hand, and was set aside in 681.
