The brothers from Thessalonica built an alphabet so the Slavs could hear the gospel and liturgy in their own language — against the 'three-languages' objection that God speaks only Hebrew, Greek and Latin. Their disciples' Cyrillic carried it from Ohrid to Kyiv: the written foundation of the Slavic Orthodox world.
