Canons of the Lateran council

A Roman council under Martin I, convened without imperial leave, condemning the Ekthesis and the Typos — the emperors' attempts to settle the monothelete question by forbidding anyone to discuss it. Its canons confess two wills and two energies thirty years before the ecumenical council said so. Martin was arrested for it, tried at Constantinople and died in exile in the Crimea. 20 canons in all.
