Hilarion's paschal panegyric — the first great native work of Rus' letters: the Law given to Israel yields to the Grace poured out on all nations, and newly baptized Rus' walks in at the eleventh hour. Preached, by the usual dating, between the building of Saint Sophia and Hilarion's elevation; it closes praising Volodymyr as an equal of the apostles.
