Justinian II's council in the domed hall (in Trullo) completed the fifth and sixth councils with 102 canons — the backbone of Orthodox canon law, from clerical marriage to icon reverence. Its pointed censures of Latin customs, and Rome's refusal to receive it, meant East and West now lived under different law.
The Quinisext Council, i.e., the Fifth-Sixth Council, often called the Council in Trullo, Trullan Council, or the Penthekte Synod, was a church council held in 692 at Constantinople under Justinian II.
