An Athenian philosopher who kept his cloak after his baptism and argued the case for the Christians to an emperor. Byzantium keeps him on 13 September, the same day it keeps Cornelius the Centurion, and the Greek books call him a martyr; the Roman Martyrology gives him 31 August, in an entry that remembers him for presenting books on the Christian religion to the prince Hadrian. Wikidata names both churches on the September day and names none on the August one, which is why the harvest read him as a Roman saint in September and an unattributed one in August.
