Cyprian of Carthage

16 September in Rome, kept with Cornelius — whose communion Cyprian had upheld against the rigorists, and whose exile he had defended. The day is the anniversary of Cyprian's own death in 258 and not of Cornelius's, and the two were joined because the African calendar remembered them together.
