Written in prison at Pavia while awaiting execution, and the most widely read book in the Latin west after the Bible for the next thousand years. Philosophy appears as a woman and argues him out of self-pity, and no word of it is specifically Christian, though its author had written tractates on the Trinity. Cited here, never quoted.
