The documentary record of the British, Irish and English churches — every council, letter, canon and charter, printed from the manuscripts with the editors' notes underneath, and the notes are half the value: they take a received date or a received site and say what it actually rests on. FACTS-ONLY. ⚠ THE VOLUME IS THE WHOLE OF THE CITATION, because the three do not overlap. Tome I is the BRITISH church — Gildas, the Welsh synods, Llandaff, the Easter schism — and it contains no Whitby, no Hertford and no Clovesho; this row's url pointed at it until 13 Aug 2026 and the claim above it that the row was 'the source behind the synod of Whitby' was therefore false for as long as it stood. Tome III is the ENGLISH church 595-1066 and is where every Insular council this dataset holds actually is: Whitby at III. 100, Hertford at III. 118, the Clovesho of 747 at III. 360, and Carloman's capitulary for the Concilium Germanicum in the appendix to it at III. 383. Tome II is Wales, Scotland and Ireland in two parts. Tomes I and III are both in bronze under data/bronze/archive-texts; a locator here reads 'III. <page>' and never a bare title. Public domain by imprint date (Oxford: Clarendon, 1869-78). Item page and OCR download both answered 200 on 13 Aug 2026.
