The canons of the apostles, the ecumenical and local synods and the fathers, gathered in the order Orthodoxy receives them and given to a reader with Nikodemos the Hagiorite's own commentary under each one. It is the book an Orthodox canonist reaches for, and its commentary is the point: the canon says what was decided, and Nikodemos says what the Church has since understood by it. Held here in the Athens printing of 1886.
