The standard open gazetteer of the ancient world - 42,390 places with representative coordinates, feature types, location precision and date ranges - and the hub Wikidata itself links to through P1584. Its points are REPRESENTATIVE and their precision varies by entry: never read one as a pin on a building. It knows nothing about sees, people or events, and its coverage thins fast outside the classical Mediterranean - Persia, Central Asia, India and Ethiopia, which is exactly where the apostolic traditions run. It records a contested identification rather than settling it.
