The oldest surviving treatise on baptism in any language, written against a woman of the Cainite sect who was teaching that the rite was unnecessary. Its first chapter is where the fish becomes an argument rather than an ornament: Christians are little fishes born in water after the example of their own ΙΧΘΥΣ.
