Archbishop of Armagh · 445 (the church of Armagh founded, by the annals' reckoning)

Patrick made Armagh his church by the tradition of the Book of Armagh, and his heirs — the comarbai Pátraic, abbots and bishops together — held Ireland's primacy from the hill by Emain Macha. The line kept its own Irish shape, abbatial and at times hereditary, until the twelfth-century reforms folded it into the common episcopal mold.

Continues today in both the Church of Ireland and the Roman Catholic archbishops of Armagh, each primate of All Ireland.
