IN BRONZE since 12 Aug 2026: Ernest Brehaut's English translation (Columbia University Press, 1916), public domain by imprint date, confirmed at archive.org that day. This row carried NO url at all until then, which is why check:sources never tested it. The one narrative source for Merovingian Gaul, by a bishop of Tours who was descended from senators and wrote, he says, in bad Latin because nobody was left who could read good. Book II carries the baptism of Clovis and makes Clotilde the cause of it. He is credulous, partisan and indispensable, and there is nothing to check him against. Cited here, never quoted.
