Outside the New Testament it is the fullest account of Judaea under the prefects, and it carries the notices this dataset leans on for John the Baptist, for James the Just, and for the end of Pilate's prefecture. Whiston's translation (1737) is public domain. Cited as a first-century historian, not as a tradition.
