Sending of the Twelve

He called the Twelve and began to send them out two by two, giving them authority over unclean spirits, and charged them to take nothing for the journey but a staff. It is the hinge between being called and being apostles: the men whose names open every succession list in this dataset here go out and act in his name for the first time. The sending is told in Mark 6:7-13.
The commissioning of the Twelve Apostles is an episode in the ministry of Jesus that appears in all three Synoptic Gospels: Matthew 10:1–4, Mark 3:13–19 and Luke 6:12–16. It relates the initial selection of the Twelve Apostles among the disciples of Jesus.
