The non-Chalcedonian succession of Antioch, born of the resistance to Chalcedon led by Severus and organized into a parallel hierarchy through Jacob Baradaeus' consecrations. It kept the Syriac tongue and the West Syriac rite through persecution and empire alike.
Continues today as the Syriac Orthodox Patriarchate of Antioch and All the East.
