The great fasti of the Eastern sees in three LATIN folio volumes - the standard list for Jerusalem, Ephesus, Cyprus and much else, and often the only list. Read under the translation policy. ⚠ A COMPILER, NOT A WITNESS: 1740, on events from AD 30, so his entries are traditional unless the witness he names can be reached, and never attested. His confessional slant is explicit and repeated, so his judgements are paired rather than adopted. CITE BY VOLUME AND COLUMN, never by page: it is a two-column folio numbered by column and every scholar cites it that way. He runs to 1740 and this project stops at 1054, so most of each list is out of era. Public domain by imprint date, confirmed 12 Aug 2026. ⚠ THREE VOLUMES, ONE url COLUMN: the link is tomus I. ALL THREE ARE NOW IN BRONZE under data/bronze/archive-texts, so a locator can be checked against the volume instead of taken on trust. Tomus II is archive.org india.history.resource.75088 - its title page reads 'TOMUS SECUNDUS ... Patriarchatus Alexandrinus & Antiochenus, magnaeque Chaldaeorum & Jacobitarum Dioeceses exponuntur'. THE EARLIER CLAIM THAT IT COULD NOT BE FOUND WAS WRONG, and so was the claim that every citation carried its column: 134 of 209 had none, because the two lines cited AFTER that audit went straight back to a bare title. Verified against the volumes 12 Aug 2026: Constantinople in I at col. 195 (the heading 'PATRIARCHAE CONSTANTINOPOLITANI', running head 197 on the page after), Ephesus in I at col. 671, Alexandria in II at col. 329 (the volume's own printed analysis), Cyprus in II at col. 1043 (running head 1049 'PROVINCIA INSULAE CYPRI'), Jerusalem in III at col. 101 (running head 103 'DE PATRIARCHATU'). The Cyprus and Jerusalem columns were read blind by the audit and both hold. Also in tomus II, for whoever takes up the maphrianate: 'Jacobitarum Patriarchae' col. 1357, 'Maphriani seu Primates Ecclesiae Jacobiticae' col. 1533. ⚠ AND TOMUS I CARRIES THE KYIVAN METROPOLITANS - the printed register data_improvements.md I9 went looking for, already in this repo and three volumes deep. Coll. 1257-1274, 'IX. PROVINCIA RUSSIAE - ECCLESIA KIOVIENSIS, METROPOLIS': a full-width introduction, then the numbered series headed EPISCOPI at coll. 1261-1262 - I. Michael, II. Leo, III. Joannes I, IV. Theopemptus, V. Hilarion, VI. Georgius, VII. Joannes II, VIII. Joannes III, IX. Ephrem, and on past XIX. It answers the one question I9 could not: Leo - the man this dataset holds as Leontius of Kyiv, and whom Wikidata labels Leo in German - has an entry and a number of his own, where the enwiki page prints 'Michael I and Leontius' as ONE entry and can seat neither. ⚠ HIS RUSSIAN SERIES IS A COMPILER REPORTING TWO COMPILERS, so nothing off it rises above traditional: he calls Papebroch's laterculus in Acta SS. Maii t. I 'mancam prorsus, nec satis accuratam' and takes the rest from a letter Delisle wrote him from Petersburg on 3 January 1730 reporting the Russian Annals. ⚠ HIS YEARS FOR THIS LINE ARE NOT TAKEN: his entry on Michael dates the mission 'anno Christi 983' while his own introduction, three columns earlier, puts the conversion at 987 or 988 - one source contradicting itself, not two witnesses. And he disagrees with Papebroch about his own III and IV, 'adeoque ante Theopemptum sedit, quem tamen praemittit Papebrochii catalogus', deciding for the Annals - which is the order the tenure years already held here run in.
